Arrive Energized

Vehicles designed from the ground up on a battery-electric platform are indeed simpler than combustion engine alternatives. That leads some people to disparagingly say that EVs are nothing more than toasters or iceboxes on wheels. That may be true of some, but not the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Ford Mach-E is a stylish, sporty, compact SUV that would still be desirable if you had to pedal it. However, it is also superb to drive, comfortable, practical, and packed with the latest technology.

Trim Levels

The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E lineup includes Select, Premium, and GT models. Select models offer rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive with the standard-range battery. Premium models build on that with additional equipment, extended-range battery availability, and more interior features. GT models sit at the top, featuring standard all-wheel drive, an extended-range battery, and a more aggressive exterior with larger wheels and unique styling elements. The structure is simple. Select covers the essentials, Premium adds range and equipment, and GT concentrates on performance.

Performance

The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E uses either a single rear-mounted electric motor or dual motors for all-wheel drive, depending on the model. Battery capacity comes in three sizes: a 73 kWh standard-range battery, an 88 kWh extended-range battery used in Select and Premium models, and a 91 kWh extended-range battery used in GT models. Rear-wheel-drive versions produce 264 horsepower, while all-wheel-drive models increase output to 325 horsepower with 500 lb.-ft. of torque. The GT uses dual motors to deliver 480 horsepower, with torque figures reaching 600 lb.-ft., or up to 700 lb.-ft. with the available Performance Upgrade. Driving range varies by configuration: standard-range rear-wheel-drive models deliver around 415 km, extended-range rear-wheel-drive models reach up to 515 km, and extended-range all-wheel-drive models deliver approximately 483 km. Charging is handled through Level 2 AC charging or DC fast charging, which allows the battery to recover a significant portion of its range in a relatively short time.

Features & Technology

The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E seats five and provides 840 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats and 1,674 litres with the rear seats folded. The dashboard features a 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen running the SYNC system, paired with a digital instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Driver-assistance features are grouped under the Ford Co-Pilot360 system and include Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, and Post-Collision Braking. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centring is also available, along with a 360-degree camera system and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving on compatible roads. Higher trims add features such as a B&O sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic fixed-glass roof.
